Halloween 2004
Happy Halloween Day people!
Halloween has never been a big ocassion for me actually, I only celebrated once but even that it was merely a cheesy event organised by the Malaysian society two years ago. But then every year I’ve seen these people dressing up in fancy costumes marching down clubs and sometimes I wonder if they really know the reason they are celebrating for, or were they doing it solely for the sake of partying. Anyway, this is just the cuppa tea that I’ll never like and you can blame it on my rather geeky nature. Bah!
Ray is trying to lure me into watching ‘Exorcist the Beginning’ later, it sounds like a more subtle way to celebrate Halloween perhaps? Hmmm… I’m actually more interested in The Grudge. I’ve heard from film critics that both films suck pretty big time but I know they’ll manage to haunt me no matter how unrealistic the scenes might seem, yes I hate to admit but I’m that chicken when comes to horror films. But for the sake of Halloween as it coincidently falls on my off day, and for whatever reason I should be celebrating today (too lazy to google search for its history) I think I’ll go for it.
Oh well you guys have fun partying out there. And I certainly will enjoy my precious Sunday.

Random At Work
*Restaurant phone rings and I picked up*
ME: Good afternoon, this is Shitty Restaurant. How can I help you?
CUSTOMER: Hiya I would like to book a table for this evening please.
ME: Sure. Can I have your name please?
CUSTOMER: It’s Joel. Can you remember me? I’m the one who likes to eat red snapper. That last time I came in I had an absolutely delicious snapper, can you remember?
… … *speechless for 2 seconds* … …
ME: I’m sure you did. Alright, looking forward to see you this evening. Thank you, bye.
WTF??!!???!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*In the evening*
*Greeted customer at door front*
ME: Hello, table for two sir?
CUSTOMER: Hiya, I’m the red snapper man!
Tried really hard to squeeze the most welcoming fake smile at this lunatic.
ME: Righto. Mr. Joel the red snapper man. This way please.
What on earth was he thinking that I could really remember him by the lamest description anyone could possibly utter? Yet for the sake of my job, I had to pretend like his best friend and stood by the table listening to his fish talks for 10 minutes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Three hours later and Joel paid the bill*
JOEL: Thank you so much for your excellent service. I really enjoyed the snapper today.
He then tucked 20 pounds note into my hand as gratitude charge.
ME: Thanks so much sir. The next time you come in we’ll have the freshest fish ready for you. Good night sir.

Lunch Treat
Went out for lunch with Paula and her daughter Vianti this afternoon. This is extremely unusual of me as I’ve skipped lunch for quite some time and my lunch break routine is usually a nap or a gym session. But then I thought to myself I oughta do something different once in a while; and Paula’s idea to get some tapas snacks sounded just perfect for a chilly noon like today. We got ourselves a jug of cava sangria, a few yummilicious tapas dishes and finished off with a cup of amaretto coffee. What a blissful treat! Although I must say the paella was nowhere near the one I had in Barcelona, it was pretty dry and the seafood wasn’t really fresh.
Anyway, I had a very enjoyable afternoon and my day went by pretty quick and easy, only if the bunch of inconsiderate customers didn’t come in so late and I could have told you more about it. Could have posted some pictures taken today but my bed looks more tempting at this very wee moment. Yeah blame them stupid customers!

Late Customers
To all you inconsiderate bastards:
You are hungry and you want to come in for a meal. But you know very well that the restaurant closes at 12am yet you still have the gut to come in when we were just about to close. Didn’t you see the sulky expressions drawn all over our faces? Yes we did not welcome you a single bit because we were tired and we wanted to go home. But our mean boss wanted to make the most out of your pocket and we had no choice but to serve all you hungry fools. Did I tell you that we don’t get paid for the extra hours we stayed for you?
That’s ok. We served you in the most courteous way we possibly could because we wanted you to have a satisfying meal and then go back to your mama’s home and leave us alone. But you didn’t, all you fools. We cleared your plates away and you made a terrible mess on the table. You were not the least bit apologetic but instead, you actually found it quite amusing and even gave us the dirtiest laugh ever.
That’s ok. We’ll do the cleaning up. We hinted to you by asking if you need anything else. You know we didn’t mean it. We wanted you to ask for the bill but for mama’s sake you asked for another bottle of wine. How could you still sit there and drink away like nobody business? Poor tiring feet of ours, we have been standing and running around for more than 10 hours and at this time we could have gone home to rub our sore feet but we couldn’t because of you. All you inconsiderate bastards.
So, you, you, and you. Next time please, in the name of God’s mercy I beg you, if you want to have a meal in a restaurant please show your compassion by being a little more considerate. We’ll thank you like a saviour. It’s only a cheap job we have, why still want to add misery to our already pathetic working life?
But I guess you will never be able to understand our frustrations unless you were in our shoes.
That is why, I don’t like all of you.
Byebye.

Packing Up
Been busy doing a lot of packings lately. Anyone knows any door-to-door shipping companies which offer a great deal?
No commentsChelsea vs Liverpool
Yesterday was very spent despite a few hitches that didn’t really bother me. Went to Scream to watch the match between Chelsea-Liverpool but the game suck big time. Liverpool’s performance has been rather disappointing since last season and getting worse, where have the team spirit gone? Alonso is particularly one of my least favourite players, how could he miss 2 chances during freekicks yesterday? Sigh. Anyway, it’s been a while since we last watched any footie match, so it felt pretty relaxing downing a pint in the pub on a lazy Sunday.
I’ve booked a table at The Patio a week ago as a treat for Ray’s bday celebration. I’ve heard a few good coments about this restaurant but the whole fine dining experience turned out to be one of the best in Liverpool. The decor is really unique, it feels as if you are dining in an indoor garden, the ambience is very cosy with a touch of elegance. We had a nice bottle of 1997 Rioja Reserva along with a delicious 3 course meal. It was such an enjoyable evening and although it’s not a place we could afford to go on a regular basis, we’ll definitely be returning sometime in the future.
