Izakaya Ichiban

December 20th, 2007 | Category: dining out, food, japanese food

During one of those all-too-familiar moments of indecisiveness to choose a place for dinner as usual, we went to this Japanese restaurant in Sri Hartamas to give it a try. This place is located at Plaza Damas, same row as the famous Japanese chain “Rakuzen”.

The food was very good and reasonably priced. Their grilled oyster aftertaste is still lingering my tongue as I type.

Baby Octopus with sweet sauce - not bad

One of my must have Japanease cuisine: Chawamushi

Salmon with Fish Roe & Soft Shell Crab Temaki

This is one of their superb speciality dishes which I’d highly recommend: Fresh Tuna New York Style

Special Salmon sushi with Chilli Mayo - thumbs up!

Dragon Temaki - I’ve tasted better ones to be fair

This is a highly recommended by yours truly: Grilled Oyster ( I’d give it 95%!)

Grilled Salmon in Teriyaki Sauce

Did I mention Japanese food is one of my favourite cuisine? ;-)

Terry Fox Run 2007

December 04th, 2007 | Category: fitness, outdoor, weekend

This is one month overdue entry.

Exactly a month ago, my colleague, Iriani took the initiative to gather all the charity enthuthiasts in the office to take part in this year’s Terry Fox run. Since I didn’t go last year, thought it’d be a nice thing to do on a Sunday morning, what more when I get to check out what marathon is like in Malaysia not to mention it’s for charity. It’s not as though I’ve taken part in any of the London Marathons before but I’ve watched on tv before okayyyy :P

~

Run. Marathon here I come. NOT! Tt turned out to be a very mild run. Hmmm actually no… even ”brisk walking” would be an over-statement. The entire lake garden was jam packed with all different concoction of runners ranging from the lame ones like myself to the really serious hardcore ones. The entire route was only 6km and there was no room to speed at all. I was walking together with my colleagues while chatting away and about 30 minutes later we reached  the finishing line.

The run ended around 1030am. The group then adjourned to the nearby food stall for nasi lemak breakfast. It was overall a pretty fun outing and most of all, I’m proud of myself as I’ve succumbed to dump my cozy warm bed on a Sunday morning ;)

December 04th, 2007 | Category: random, thoughts

With so many leave days that I must burn before the end of 2007, I’m thinking of some where to go for a hideaway.

 Need desperate suggestion. Help!

Sweet December

December 02nd, 2007 | Category: random, reflection

After many weeks of MIA in the blogging space I’m just wondering if there’s still any readers out there?

If you are reading this and have been wondering about me, I’m doing great. Have been spending a fair bit of my cybertime in addictive facebook.

~

I love December. Have always been. Even though things might have changed and environment I’m in now might have been different, the childlike anticipation will always remain. It’s not just about Christmas. Although a huge part of it has to do with it regardless of religion preference. My teenage years were spent in a country where Christmas was the biggest thing to look forward to. It’s the most enchanting month of the year. I’m already excited just thinking about it.

~

After 1.5 years of a whirlwind journey at work, things have finally taken a change. I survived! And now I’m geared to off for better things. 2008 is going to be great.

~
