Off to Kuching and KK
This week seemed to have wheezed by with a blink of an eye. Just when I finally got the time to unwind from all those travelling, events & activities, I’m now down with a fever and a bad sore throat and yet, I’ll be flying to East Malaysia for another week in a few hours time.
*sipping One Hundred Plus on my bed*Â
Here’s some photos from my little god sister’s Hen Night on Friday night. I’m never a karaoke junkie - in fact it was my first time visiting Red Box in The Curve. Didn’t know she could sing so well, almost on par with some professional singers I reckon.
But anyway, yeah she’s finally tying the knot with her beau of 11 years. A fairy tale came true indeed. It’s a shame that I’d be in KK on her wedding reception…  therefore I decided to take the last flight back to KL on Thurs as not to miss her party.  Â

Wednesday is Thaipusam Holiday
It’s 1am as I’m typing now and at the same time I’m still replying emails. *yawn*
Will be traveling to Penang for work on Wednesday. Just checked my itenerary details, the flight is at 7am! O_o I’ll get picked up at 4am, which means I’ll have to wake up at 3am! O_O!!! Â
Just to rub salt into injury further, didn’t they just declare Wednesday a public holiday?

The best 8 bucks spent on a Sunday noon
Is no other than the nasi lemak in Village Park Restaurant.Â
This is definitely the best nasi lemak that I’ve ever tasted. Ironic as it sounds, this place is actually recommended by my expat colleague, Anabelle whose spicy food usually isn’t in her list. She told me I must try it and also after hearing some positive feedbacks & online reviews, looks like it’s a place not to be missed.

It’s true.
A good Nasi Lemak for a Sunday brunch is definitely an indulgence to me & perhaps many Malaysians out there. And today I’ve attested to Village Park’s excellent quality of nasi lemak. I thought Madam Kwan was good, but not until I’ve tried this! And it’s cheaper as well. I’m not really a big fan of nasi lemak but had a sudden craving for rice today after missing it for 2 weeks. Certainly satisfied, so much so that it has kept me full for the rest of the day!

Nasi Lemak with Fried chicken ( RM6)
Perfect to go with this fresh fruit juice -Â Kedondong with Sour Plum (RM2)
~Â
I had no idea what kedondong is but I saw the guy next to our table was sipping a greenish looking drink which looked like apple juice, so I pointed to his drink and the waiter replied, ” oh kedondong, satu!”
It tasted like pear. But only better.

Alright. It has been really busy filled with various events last week and will be embracing more this coming 2 weeks.
Have a great one ahead!Â

2007 rewind (Part 2)
Looking back at the 2nd half of the year, 80% of my time were immersed in work ( esp. Tech.Ed which made July & Aug the craziest months), and the rest of the 20% were mostly spent in partying, attending friends’ weddings and enjoying outdoor activities
~
Here’s a quick recap for the second half:Â
- Adventure - Went for  White water rafting, knee boarding, charity run and etc. Super fun. Will try to blog about knee boarding someday.

~
- Culture - Watched a contemporary dance performance in August. Fell in love with it instantly.Â
- Vacation - Traveled to Karambunai in August for another company offsite; and then Pangkor in December for my annual year-end getaway. To me, vacation equates beach.
Both places I went were also beach resorts in their own unique ways.

- Acquaintance - I’ve lost some good friends, some were relocated to other states; some left the company for better career but then I’ve also made some good new ones. I’m beginning to learn not get too emotional over colleagues farewell these days.
- Glitches - Had an accident in September, a minor surgery to repair a tendon. First time being lifted in an ambulance! From this incident also helped me realize that there are actually many caring people out there.
- Career - Never worked this long hours in my entire life. Won another award in Oct. Got promoted in Nov! The milestone is still long way to go but definitely encouraging. Â
- Financial - If there is such a thing to measure the lowest benchmark, 2007 had to be the one.
- Fitness & Health - My weight fluctuated like a stock market. Not good. Inconsistent with gym.  Definitely new year resolution for 2008.
- Party - Partied pretty hard this year with those saturday night life clubbing & friends birthday bashes. Even went for UVNation rave party! Guess I couldn’t have asked for more.

December has always been my favorite month of the year simply because it’s year end and everyone’s in merriment celebrating Christmas and welcoming the start of a new year. After came back from my year-end getaway trip, I had a quiet Christmas this year at home with loved ones and family watching Bridget Jones and Love Actually. The fireworks on New Year Eve was spectacular.

I think I’m pretty happy about 2007 with the brownie points earned and the bruises learnt.
All charged for 2008 now. It’s going to be great!Â

2007 rewind (Part 1)
I’ve yet to bid a proper goodbye to 2007 before it left me. Can’t believe a year has came and gone, just like that. 2007 was a rather fruitful & eventful year for me on both personal & work levels. The good has definitely outweighed the bad and I must say, 2007 also marked the steepest learning curve in my career thus far. With hindsight, I’m pretty satisfied with every single moment that I’ve lived, thankfully.
Let’s rewind a few major events & incidents which happened last year.
-
Jan & Feb - Launch of Windows Vista, Office 2007 and Exchange 2007/ LOVE Launch
Biggest product launch in Microsoft history and I was so honored to be part of the core team in Malaysia. It was absolutely amazing, with more than 10,000 estimated 45,000 to 50,000 people turned up at Low Yat that weekend.
-Â Â
March - Accomplished 2 virgin skits
- First time participated in a full scale treasure hunt from KL to Cherating (lasted for 8 hours!!) during a company offsite, organized by Time Out Solutions. Boy it was super fun!
- I’ve had many chances to join friends for paint-balling in the past but never really materialized in the end. During the company offsite at Cherating, I’ve had a helluva time at the paintball field which was right next to the beach!
- Winning the execution excellence award was definitely an encouragement to end first quarter of the year.Â
-Â
April
- I turned another year older. With the exception that I really felt the aging part this time and started feeling uncomfortable when people ask, ” So how old are you?” In a few years time I’ll be hitting the big three. Scary.
- On a drunken night out, my ex-boss told me that I’ve passed the intern review and that I will be moving into my second year. Good news.
-Â
May
- “The Secret” came true. I knew it would happen but didn’t expect it to come so soon. A surprise trip to London for a week with the boyfriend during labor week. Trailed back my footprints where I left them.  Went to some of the nostalgic places I used to hang out including Cambridge.  Â
will elaborate more about the trip in my next few posts.

June
The Business Agility event - vertical & industry focused which we haven’t done in a while. It was again another highlight.
to be continued.

Petai
Also known as Parkia speciosa. Definition according to wiki, it’s a twisted cluster bean, yongchaak or stink bean.
It looks like any normal beans and seems harmless. But the aftermath stench can be almost unbearable and ironically, sufferers are usually not those who enjoy eating them but who are surrounded by petai eaters. Â
To me, it’s the most disgusting vegetable on earth. I don’t understand why is such stinky bean so appealing to some. In fact it’s actually tasteless. All it does is stinks the shit out of your house.
I think petai should be banned from bfs whose gfs are allergic to it.
Won’t you agree?
