Ever wonder how does Microsofties Party?
The fiscal year (FY08) has ended with a bang for me for the better or for the worse. And as for the rest of the folks, it was time to party hard last Friday.
In spite of all the excuses I had in mind, being seriously sleep deprived and all but I made it.
Initially, all I wanted to do was to go home and crash after the dinner at The Apartment ( next post). But Lorraine and Yutz coaxed me to drop by the place since it’s near my house, which I did and guess what? I ended up staying till 3am.
We got ourselves a big room @ Neway, One Utama.

After the Rainy Days
I have thousand and one things to blog about but I just can’t keep up anymore.
I don’t think I want to generate too much traffic on my blog as this isn’t a profit making site to begin with neither nor the company is paying me to keep this site running. But things just happen that way like how the stats here are increasing more than I’d like it to be. I know there are people who love me reads my blog will later email me and tell me to stay strong just like they always do and on the contrary, I’m also very sure that there are people who finds joy in seeing somebody drown will be reading this and will probably laugh in glee.
I don’t care. It’s my blog and I write what i want.
The past one week of emotional roller coaster ride has drained the crap out of me it’s not even funny. But thankfully, there are more true friends than I thought I have gained from both inside and outside of workplace there to lift me up and helped me put things back into perspective.
I still get secondary TLC if not anything else.
Remember, it’s mighty important not to let crabs pull you down because they can only see you at the level where they are.
For me there are so many other far more important things in life to look forward to - like pick up a new language to learn.
How about French, you think?
p/s: Thks to Yutz for taking this candid shot, it was taken when I was checking sms last night. The effect turned out quite well after using Microsoft Picture Manager.

The Wine House @ Plaza Damas
This wine bar isn’t new but it was recently taken over by my friend, Alicia and another 2 partners. Located at Ground floor Plaza Damas, Sri Hartamas. It was their soft launch on Friday cum Jacque’s birthday so yeah, I was there.
it’s situated next to Coast Restaurant.
Cozy bar with not too many tables. They specialized in boutique wines.
Here comes the birthday girl, who was fashionably late. :-PÂ
Happy birthday to Jacqueline ( michelle’s sister).

Sukun Bali Cottage
So this is the warm little cottage I stayed in during my recent Bali trip, situated in the quieter area of Sanur. It’s a boutique concept which they somehow name it "cottage", consists of only 22 units of cottage huts enriched with beautiful traditional Balinese decor and housed by friendly and attentive staff.
Read on.
It’s about 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from Sanur Beach Resort ( photos in later posts) where some of my other friends stayed.
Each unit is surrounded by tropical plants and has its own patio.
Swimming pool is small but inviting.
The room comes with basic amenities. But my complaints were the notorious mossies. Mosquito repellant is a must!
And oh… their Balinese massage is superb too. USD16 for a hour and it was so soothing good that I fell asleep.
Most importantly, the rate is very reasonable. With USD35 per night, I think I got more than what I’ve bargained for.
This place is recommended for budget travelers who are looking for comfortable lodging minus the 5 star luxury.

Most Expensive Nasi Kandar!
Here’s just a quick update of my Penang trip that I couldn’t resist to tell you guys.
We were brought to this Nasi Kandar shop near Intel for dinner last night. I’m not really a mamak person but sometimes when you go with a group of people, you just gotta go with the flow. Surprisingly I’ve enjoyed myself very much. And so far I haven’t felt any tummy discomfort. *fingers crossed*
But take a look at the dish below which dropped everyone’s jaws.Â
The most expensive nasi kandar I’ve ever seen!
(RM49++)
I was told the prawn itself cost RM30.
i thought that’s pretty crazy.
Just take a look at satisfied Azra after chowing down his sumptuous dish.
Roti Tissue! It tasted sweet and oily. Very very oily. But very interesting.
It takes 3 rectangular plates to hold this interesting dish.
First time visiting Intel in Penang. We were there last night for setup and rehearsal until late night.
A quick snap of me working in the AV console a moment ago. I was sneaking time out to blog. Â :mrgreen:Â
————-
We are only half way through the event but after that, Yutz and I will be going to Penang downtown chillout tonite.
Later!

Bubba Gumps @ The Curve
Yesterday had been a very interesting and amusing day for cosmo girls and I. Not something I could share here but we had such a good laugh over it. On the other hand, Dr. Bin came out for my emo rescue yesterday and we went sipping Chard @ our usual place again.
———————————————————————
Sometime not too long ago after a raging fight, I decided go for happy food hunt to cheer myself up.
Bubba Gump just opened @ The Curve recently and I was dying to try their prawns. Or Shrimps. Whatever you call it.Â
I have to say they have very nice interior decor but that’s about it. Didn’t manage to capture their indoor setting coz I was ushered to a table near the quiet patio and with a drained & puffy face, taking pictures wasn’t a very keen idea at that time. Â
It was late lunch so didn’t bother to order much. I had Heaven Shrimp Combo ( RM45++) and a side salad.
Okay. That’s actually quite a lot.
And food was only mediocre.
Even though it’s Friday today but I’ll be flying off to Penang in a bit for work and coming back on Sunday. Hence no TGIF for me.
p/s: I’m still waiting for the Bali photos from Ed.

Chilli Pan Mee to Spice Up Your Day
Office has been eerily quiet these days. Hardly see any souls around except for the ocassional brisk footsteps; usually one hand grabbing a laptop and mobile phone on the other; and their minds constantly wandering elsewhere but office.
It’s the closing of the year. Everyone is either busy chasing the last lap of numbers or doing review reports.
So Winnie suggested to drive out for lunch today and I was keen to break the mundane routine. Hence, 7 of us headed to Jalan TAR for the much acclaimed ” Best Pan Mee” in KL. It was a first for me so let’s explore this place…
This place is called Restaurant Kin Kin where they only serve one type of food and beverage: Pan Mee and Barley drink
We were there early enough to secure our seats. I was told that sometimes the waiting time can be painstakingly long.
This is the dry version of Pan Mee. It comes with a small bowl of soup as well. ( I really love the soup)
“A mound of thick round noodles topped with ikan bilis, chopped scallion, a wee bit of table sugar, pork sliced and chopped, and tiny cubes of cracklin’, all crowned by a snow-white poached egg. After adding heaped spoonfuls of the la jiao that makes its way from table to table in a plastic tub…” source
And here’s how you should eat it.
Mix a spoonful of roasted chillis into the noodle, stir well and dug in! Â
This is the normal soupy Pan Mee. I nicked a spoonful and it’s very yummy on its own ( without chillis).Â
I didn’t feel too good after lunch because firstly, the noodles were too big a portion and yet I almost finished the whole bowl which gave me indigestion; and secondly, I reckon I must have put too much chillis into it my poor tummy was burning in fire for the rest of the day. :(Â
However, I’d still rate it 4.5 out of 5 and in my next visit, I’ll probably share it with someone else instead of stuffing myself silly.
Some other blogs reviewed about this place which worth hopping over:

At 8pm. One of my colleagues, in her late thirties, probably stressed up her neck and started humming to herself loud enough for everyone to hear.Â
I’m tired… I’m hungry… I’m horny…
Almost instantaneously everyone turned around to her direction and burst out in laughter.
Realized it’s getting late. Packed my bag and called it a day.
If you are having a slow and draggy day like me, here’s a song to bring you up the beat.

Back from Bali
Hellooo peeps… I’m reluctantly but inevitably back in KL! ![]()
  Â
The 5 days 4 nights vacation was absolutely awesome with sheer indulgence! The sea, the sun, the people and the best of all, I was totally shun away from the rest of the world!
  Â
Day3, received a concerned sms from a colleague while sunbathing by the beach.
  Â
“Â Howz Bali? Any email withdrawal yet? ;-)”
  Â
ermm… hell no!  :DÂ
Â
Â
I’m dreading to go back to work tomorrow morning as I can still smell the Balinese breeze and soothing sound of sea waves…
 Â
I’m glad I didn’t chicken out from the trip as I almost, very close to doing so. Met and mingled with some very cool & crazy people and to certain extent, famous too. Everyday was about eating, boozing & dining out and albeit returning home 3 kilos heavier, I came back refreshed, relaxed, destressed and happy.
Â
This place is definitely more than just an Island of God, it’s a perfect destination to revive jaded souls.
Time to catch some sleep now before going back to reality of where I belong.
  Â
Laterz!
