2007 rewind (Part 2)

Category: musings, reflection

Looking back at the 2nd half of the year, 80% of my time were immersed in work ( esp. Tech.Ed which made July & Aug the craziest months), and the rest of the 20% were mostly spent in partying, attending friends’ weddings and enjoying outdoor activities

~

Here’s a quick recap for the second half:

White water rafting in Kota Kinabalu

My first kneeboarding experience

  • Culture - Watched a contemporary dance performance in August. Fell in love with it instantly.

  • Vacation - Traveled to Karambunai in August for another company offsite; and then Pangkor in December for my annual year-end getaway. To me, vacation equates beach. Both places I went were also beach resorts in their own unique ways.

  • Acquaintance - I’ve lost some good friends, some were relocated to other states; some left the company for better career but then I’ve also made some good new ones. I’m beginning to learn not get too emotional over colleagues farewell these days.
  • Glitches - Had an accident in September, a minor surgery to repair a tendon. First time being lifted in an ambulance! From this incident also helped me realize that there are actually many caring people out there.

  • Career - Never worked this long hours in my entire life. Won another award in Oct. Got promoted in Nov! The milestone is still long way to go but definitely encouraging.
  • Financial - If there is such a thing to measure the lowest benchmark, 2007 had to be the one.
  • Fitness & Health - My weight fluctuated like a stock market. Not good. Inconsistent with gym.  Definitely new year resolution for 2008.
  • Party - Partied pretty hard this year with those saturday night life clubbing & friends birthday bashes. Even went for UVNation rave party! Guess I couldn’t have asked for more.

December has always been my favorite month of the year simply because it’s year end and everyone’s in merriment celebrating Christmas and welcoming the start of a new year. After came back from my year-end getaway trip, I had a quiet Christmas this year at home with loved ones and family watching Bridget Jones and Love Actually. The fireworks on New Year Eve was spectacular.

I think I’m pretty happy about 2007 with the brownie points earned and the bruises learnt.
All charged for 2008 now. It’s going to be great!
